Synopsis:
Present day, Eastern Shore, Virginia. Inmate 1688, a.k.a. Victoria Brown, who has served over 20 years on Death Row, grants the opportunity for one final interview before her pending execution date. Enters Ami Wallace, a highly sophisticated and overly anxious aspiring author. With a generational gap spanning nearly 30 years, the two seemingly have nothing in common. Yet, during their interview, something is revealed. Beyond the surface, the two women discover a common thread: a desire for peace and acceptance.
Full of torment, conspiracy, and hope, The Request (or Prison Fan Fiction) is a tale of two African-American women battling the systemic racial and social injustices that cage them on an everyday basis. Beyond the color of their skin exists human beings with complexities and urges for acceptance by society and themselves.
